Fireworks, cookouts with friends and family, and apple pie. That’s how we celebrate the 4th of July. But have you ever wondered where the best celebrations are?
Wonder no more. Here are the best places to celebrate the 4th of July.
FESTIVALS
“Let Freedom Sing” Nashville, TN - This festival has two free live music stages which feature top acts and the Family Fun Zone which is the perfect spot for little ones. Once the sun has set, the Nashville Symphony will accompany one of the largest fireworks shows in America. In 2021, over 350,00 attended the festival.
“Wawa Welcome America” Philadelphia, PA - The city where our founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence is also home to an amazing festival. Running 16 days, this festival includes a parade, local food events, movies, and free entrance to several museums. The festival culminates with a fireworks spectacular on July 4th, at 9:30 pm.
FIREWORKS
“Big Bay Boom Fireworks Spectacular” San Diego, CA - Although San Diego didn’t see any action in 1776, it's ready for it now! The fireworks, which fly from four large barges in the bay, can be seen along most of the city’s coastline. For a perfect evening, rent a boat, bring a picnic dinner, and watch the fireworks from the water.
“Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular”, Boston, MA - There are many fireworks shows accompanied by live music, but this one takes the cake. The Boston Pops first played for the 4th of July in 1929. Since then, the show has undergone many changes, the biggest being the addition of real cannons firing to the best of the music.
Now that you have some ideas for the 4th of July, it’s time to get planning.
We wish you a safe and Happy Independence Day no matter where you’re traveling.
Bon voyage!
